Land consumption in Liguria, Natale and Bellotti (PD): “A new approach is essential”

Davide Natale and Deborah Bellotti, PD Liguria’s secretary and environmental manager, express concerns over Liguria’s land management under Bucci’s administration, which follows Toti’s policies. Despite ISPRA’s data showing the lowest land consumption in Italy, Liguria’s available land is limited, with significant impermeability issues and excessive coastal consumption. Urban regeneration policies often lead to speculation rather than sustainable development. A lack of rewilding strategy and delayed environmental restoration highlight the urgent need for a national soil consumption law.
