The Wine Fair has awarded the DegustAndora prize

Inaugurated by Miss Andora, the 2024 Wine Fair celebrated top wines, highlighting regional excellence and attracting enthusiastic visitors.

Inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Miss Andora, Rachele Siffredi, the 2024 Wine Fair concluded with the awarding of the DegustAndora prize, featuring participating exhibiting wineries. The jury, composed of sommeliers from Fisar, selected the winners, who were honored by Andora’s municipal assessors Ilario Simonetta and Alexandra Allegri, along with the president of COA, Dr. Giovanni Puppo.

The top prize was awarded to the Violanda Nizza wine from the Langhe winery CUCITO Dario. Among the red wines, the Diamante from the winery La Rocca di Perti in Finale Ligure stood out, while the white category was won by the Pigato from the Colla Sereno winery in Acquetico. For dessert wines, the award went to the sweet Vignamare from the Lupi winery in Imperia.

The 2024 edition witnessed a substantial public turnout, with attendees appreciating the variety and quality of products offered by exhibitors. The tasting and sales route highlighted the agricultural excellence of the Val Merula and producers from Piedmont, Lombardy, and Emilia Romagna. The local street food was a customary success, featuring the bagna cauda presented by the Slow Food chapter of Fossano, alongside an area dedicated to both farm and wild animals, which included small falcons, owls, and barn owls.

Mayor Mauro Demichelis stated: “The Andora Wine Fair is increasingly appreciated, drawing crowds of visitors who have always loved the offerings of this event. Each year, the quality of the exhibitors improves, providing a unique showcase with producers, artisans, and local and regional entities presenting authentic flavors of tradition.” He expressed gratitude to all the exhibitors, volunteer associations, Pro Loco Andora, Croce Bianca, the Municipal Civil Protection Group, the Alpini Val Merula Group, the Parent Committee, the fishermen of Andora, FISAR for their support during the awards, friends from the Slow Food Fossano branch, and the group of artists who created floral compositions. He concluded with praise for the COA for organizing the fair, calling it “a small market show of which we are very proud.”
