Socio-health districts are local entities in the national healthcare system, responsible for coordinating health and social services. They focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and care delivery, including primary, specialised, and home care. In the Province of Savona, five districts manage diverse needs, from urban to rural, ensuring inclusive support for vulnerable groups. Each district has a district council for collaborative management, developing tailored intervention plans to meet community needs effectively.

On Thursday, the newly unveiled Red Code Room at Santa Corona Hospital in Pietra Ligure marked a major upgrade in the Ligurian Health System. Accommodating around 45,000 patients annually, the hospital acts as a critical care hub for serious emergencies. The redesigned room, featuring an open space layout, doubles treatment stations for red code patients, enabling simultaneous care. Dr. Michele Orlando highlighted the renovation’s impact on patient monitoring, treatment effectiveness, and staff working conditions, enhancing overall healthcare efficiency.
