Meeting in the Regional Office with Trade Union Representatives

Marco Bucci

Wednesday marked the inaugural meeting between the President of the Liguria Region, Marco Bucci, and the Assessore for Relations with Trade Unions, Paolo Ripamonti, along with representatives from the region’s confederate unions. Attendees included Luca Maestripieri from Cisl, Luca Cerusa from Uil Liguria, Riccardo Serri of Uiltucs Liguria, and Maurizio Calà from Cgil.

Bucci and Ripamonti described the meeting as “productive,” laying the groundwork for a stable and lasting collaboration on crucial issues for Liguria’s future. The stated aim is to work jointly with the union organisations to achieve tangible results for citizens and regional development. Key topics discussed included healthcare, infrastructure, employment, the environment, and the NRRP. Infrastructure, in particular, is seen as strategic, with the potential to bring significant resources in terms of funding and employment in the coming years.

It was also agreed that there is a need to establish an organisational and programmatic committee focused on healthcare, aiming to reduce waiting lists and support the public system, with the private sector serving as a necessary backup. Emphasis was placed on maintaining the same service costs between the public and private sectors, both from the perspective of the regional budget and the ticket cost.

Finally, the importance of renewing existing tools, such as the pact for employment in tourism and commerce, and the protocol on public contracts to ensure safety, employment, and combat corruption and illegality, was shared. The fiscal pact was also mentioned as a key element for the future.
