On Sunday, November 24th, at 10:00 AM, a discovery walk will take place, guiding participants from the beach to the village of Laigueglia. The aim is to narrate the area’s history and its deep connection with the sea. This event, titled “Passeggiando dal mare al borgo” (“Strolling from the Sea to the Village,”) is organized by the Informare association in collaboration with the Municipality of Laigueglia. Participation is open and free for everyone.

The walk, lasting approximately three hours, offers a chance to explore Laigueglia’s natural, historical, and artistic wonders. It is an opportunity to understand the Ligurian town’s relationship with the sea from historical, economic, and ecological perspectives. During the stroll, participants will uncover hidden treasures of the beach and village, showcasing unique features and significant historical figures. Despite intense summer tourism, Laigueglia’s beaches still retain elements of great natural value.

Informare’s guides will lead the participants, with the meeting point set at 9:45 AM at the central pier of Laigueglia. The event will be hosted by marine biologist Monica Previati, who will explain the “naturalness” of the winter shoreline and its differences from the summer season. The event provides an opportunity to observe marine life returned by the sea, especially after storms, and to discover the region’s rich marine ecosystems.

Subsequently, the tour will lead to the heart of the village, guided by archaeologist Elisa Bianchi. Participants will have the opportunity to explore monuments, squares, and historic buildings, delving into the charming alleys and small squares overlooking the sea. Laigueglia, with its layers of history, art, and tradition, provides a unique setting that enriches the tourist experience with the architectures of the historic center and its vibrant cultural offerings.

The initiative “Blue as a Cultural Brand” is part of the series of events in the cultural and social regeneration project, designed to enhance the appeal of historic villages. In collaboration with the Municipality of Laigueglia, the project aims to bring the sea into the streets of the village, making it accessible to everyone.

Alessandro Chirivì, leader of the majority group in the Municipality of Laigueglia and delegate for events and culture, explains that the event is a free, open-to-all nature and culture walk. It blends environmental themes of Laigueglia’s marine ecosystem with the discovery of the village’s historical, architectural, and artistic wonders. The aim is to support the much-demanded off-season tourism by organizing events outside the peak periods.

Chirivì emphasizes that this strategy provides entertainment and activities for tourists, visitors, and local residents, including those from nearby areas, during the autumn and spring seasons. “As successfully demonstrated with the organization of the FAI Spring Days,” the historic center and churches attracted hundreds of visitors. According to Chirivì, this success is an experience to be repeated in the future.

In this context, the decision has been made to open the Tourist Information Office every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until Epiphany, and daily during the Christmas holidays.
