In Andora, in mid-August, a series of musical and cultural events will enliven the town centre and some of the area’s charming locations. On 14 August, in Piazza Santa Maria at 9.30 pm, the band Libero Arbitrio will perform a repertoire dedicated to disco music from the 1970s and 1980s. The group, made up of experienced musicians, offers a live tribute characterised not only by musical quality but also by particular attention to stage costumes and costume changes during the performance. The concert will be enhanced by the presence of choreographer Giada Ricotti, a student of Renzo Bergamo, who will provide choreographic support for the evening. On stage will alternate four singers – Zack “Il Bianco”, Elena Aloe, Silvia Ferri and Alessia Cava – accompanied by Roberto “Bobo” Campana on drums, Alfredo Silvestri on keyboards, Simone Mazzone on guitar and Mattia Buonadonna on bass, as well as the dancer Giada Ricotti.
The programme will continue on 15 August, again in Piazza Santa Maria at 9:30 pm, with a travelling karaoke hosted by Giacomo Aicardi, involving the audience along with contributions from the singer Luca Galtieri.
On 16 August, in the village of Rollo, at 9:30 pm, the final event of the sixteenth edition of the musical series Notes Among the Olive Trees, supported by the Presidency of the Liguria Region, will take place. The event will feature the Lorenzo Piccone Band, a group from Nashville. Lorenzo Piccone, a multi-instrumentalist musician and songwriter, has international collaborations to his name and has released albums with the label CandyRat Records, specialised in acoustic guitar. During the evening, the musician will perform both original compositions and reinterpretations of Italian traditional songs, referencing artists such as De André and Paolo Conte. The event is free to attend and will be preceded, at 7:30 pm, by the opening of a refreshment area serving typical Ligurian dishes. The venue, on the Capo Cervo promontory, offers a view that spans the provinces of Savona and Imperia.
On 16 August, at 9:30 pm, a concert dedicated to Ligurian music will take place at the Tagliaferro Gardens in Genoa, with a special focus on the local singer-songwriter tradition. The evening will feature a band composed of Massimiliano Viapiano (piano and vocals), Mauro Vero (lead guitar and vocals), Francesco Pignataro (rhythm guitar), Gabriele Viapiano (bass and vocals), Matteo Ferrando (drums), and Raffaele Esposito (winds), accompanied by soloists such as Giuseppe Marco De Punzio, Nevenka Vukosav, Pietro Piovanello, Alexandra Siscanu, and Norma Viapiano. Admission is free.
The events calendar will conclude on Sunday 17 August with “Let’s Dance the Summer Away” in Santa Maria Square at 9:30 pm, an evening of musical entertainment and karaoke with a big screen to sing and dance to the tunes of great hits.
Finally, on Thursday 21 August at 9.30 pm, the Bagni Marini Association of Andora will present a fireworks display visible along the entire coastline, with multiple launch points.
