On Tuesday, the Provincial Council was held in the Council Chamber of the Palace of the Province in Savona, convened by the president, Pierangelo Olivieri. During the session, delegations were distributed to the Provincial Councillors elected on 29 September 2024. Following a constructive dialogue with Council members and in alignment with the Entity’s Statute, Olivieri announced the assignment of delegations, aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the provincial administration. He stated, “After a period of intense institutional work and discussion with the Administration’s members, I have officially conferred the new delegations, taking into account the territorial aspects, personal and professional skills of the Councillors, as well as the significant electoral results.”
A significant highlight was the appointment of Andrea Castellini, Mayor of Stella, as Vice President of the Province of Savona, with responsibilities for Roads (Levante and Savona), Public Companies, and Environment. Olivieri stated that “the hope and determination are to continue with an administrative action that is as shared and collaborative as possible, as demonstrated by the work done so far and by most of the resolutions approved unanimously yesterday.”
Castellini expressed his gratitude to his geographical area of Levante and to all the Administrators of the Province of Savona for their support, also thanking the President and the majority for their trust. He declared his readiness to work hard to “ensure tangible results for the territory.”
The mandates have been assigned to the Provincial Councillors as follows: Andrea Castellini will oversee Roads (Levante and Savona), Public Enterprises, and Environment; Diego Distilo will manage Public Works, School Planning, and Transport; Marco Dogliotti will be responsible for the Complex Crisis Area, Public Works (Valbormida), and Waste Management; Franca Giannotta will handle Legal Affairs, Single Contracting Authority, and Integrated Water Service; Demis Aghittino will focus on Asset Enhancement, Buildings, and School Construction; Matteo Mirone will have mandates on Roads (Ponente) and the Expropriation Commission.
The Provincial Council has also approved several strategic resolutions, affirming the entity’s commitment to “operate with maximum effectiveness and transparency.”
