The semifinalists for the Città di Quiliano Award have been revealed, with 34 musical entries chosen from numerous submissions across Italy. A distinguished panel will select the finalists, who will perform live at the Teatro Nuovo di Valleggia in Quiliano on December 13, competing for the “National Award for Emerging Songwriters.”
The preselected artists hail from 12 Italian regions: Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Lombardy, Piedmont, Liguria, Tuscany, Lazio, Umbria, Campania, Molise, Apulia, and Sicily. Now in its fourteenth edition, the event aims to spotlight emerging singer-songwriters and bands, showcasing the current trends in Italian music.
Special guests include Alberto Fortis and Paolo Archetti Maestri, the latter presenting his debut solo album. Artistic Director Roberto Grossi expressed his satisfaction, noting that entries “have increased in both quantity and quality” and that the presence of high-profile guests, along with a prestigious jury, makes the award one of the most significant and representative events for new Italian music.
The event is organized by the E20 Cultural Association, in collaboration with the Festival Network, L’Altoparlante, and with the patronage of the City of Quiliano and the M.E.I. – Meeting of Independents, alongside support from the A. De Mari Foundation.
