Christmas Enchantments in Vado Ligure

Natale regali

As is tradition, this year Vado Ligure transforms into a magical place where adults and children can experience the Christmas spirit uniquely. The city’s iconic spots and its neighborhoods will be adorned with sparkling decorations, lighting up the winter days.

In addition to the usual decorations in the main squares and public buildings, extraordinary setups are planned for the recently renovated via XXV Aprile and other symbolic locations like the Valle di Vado footbridge, dedicated to the “Partisan Couriers”. In Piazza Cavour, a 15-meter tall tree of lights will be installed, featuring LED and low-energy consumption.

Mayor Fabio Gilardi emphasized his administration’s commitment to the environment, stating, “For seven years now, our choice has been not to sacrifice trees for Christmas setups, opting for scenic alternative solutions.” In via Gramsci and via XXV Aprile, two large three-dimensional structures, a bauble and a gift box, will be placed to serve as backdrops for photo opportunities.

The Commerce Assessore Angelo Lestinge expressed a “heartfelt thanks to the merchants of Vado Ligure for their cooperation in completing the extraordinary lighting of the urban center.”

The celebrations will begin on Friday, December 6 with the tree lighting in Piazza Cavour and will continue throughout the month with concerts in various parishes, traveling performances, children’s entertainment, nativity scene exhibitions at Sant’Ermete, and Christmas workshops. To end the year joyfully, the New Year’s Eve concert will once again be held in the C. Colombo Seaside Gardens. Lestinge mentioned that “the residents of Vado Ligure greatly enjoyed similar activities in previous years,” and the initiative has been renewed with enthusiasm, featuring a party band playing ’70s and ’80s hits.

Among the scheduled events, the Creative Christmas Workshops will offer adults and children the chance to create ornaments and decorations. The lighting of the Christmas tree will officially kick off the festive season, while the Christmas Village will host Santa’s House and entertainment for the whole family. The Charity Market will feature unique handmade gifts, Christmas decorations, and local specialties, supporting local organizations.

The Illuminated Walk and Nativity Scenes at Sant’Ermete will provide an enchanting route through lights and nativity displays, allowing visitors to discover traditional community nativity scenes. The New Year’s Concert in the seaside gardens will be an opportunity to celebrate the arrival of the new year with live music. Finally, the Epiphany Festival will conclude the Christmas festivities with entertainment and shows for children.
