CIA Savona, green tourism and the “Asparago violetto d’Albenga”

Show cooking Asparago Violetto di Albenga

Alassio / Albenga | The farm companies belonging to the Italian Farmers Confederation (CIA) have been interpreters of the storyboard on the extraordinary potential of “green” tourism: from hiking to food, from trekking, to climbing in a crag, passing through the agri-food excellence of the territory, in particular oil and wine.

An event that combined green tourism with the agri-food excellence of our territory, the one that took place monday morning in the Berrino gardens, in front of the municipal building of Alassio. The official presentation of the project work of “Italian Riviera Experience”, with the promotional video on green tourism and the new interactive brochure of the farmhouses and specialties related to asparagus, was followed by a special cooking show on the “Asparago violetto d’Albenga”, which sees the CIA Savona protagonist of an innovative supply chain project, with producers, transformers and restaurateurs. The “Asparago violetto d’Albenga” is a particularly fine variety of asparagus officinalis with a characteristic purple color (violetto), a typical product of Albenga in the province of Savona.

“As the promotional video tells us, we have a natural landscape that allows you to practice outdoor activities, such as trekking, mtb, cycling, climbing, swimming in the sea, sailing, surfing and diving, but also to spend a holiday in total relaxation on the beaches of the coastal villages. Some Savoy resorts, for example, have been internationally recognised for 12 months a year for outdoor sports. Many CIA-affiliated farms also buy products from farms and wineries in the area,” said Mirco Mastroianni and Osvaldo Geddo, president and director of CIA Savona.
