Alassio is set to host the thirteenth edition of SaldinBanco, an outdoor shopping event organised by the consortium “Alassio Un Mare di Shopping” in collaboration with the municipality’s Department of Commerce. The event will take place on Monday 18 August, from 4 pm until midnight, along Corso Dante and Corso Marconi, where approximately 120 gazebos will be installed. Local shops and businesses will offer special deals and promotions, creating an elegant market open to both tourists and residents.

This year, the event includes new features such as a children’s area with entertainment at the “Charlie Chaplin” playground, designed to allow accompanying adults to shop with ease. Additionally, a free yoga session will be held at 8 am on the Bestoso pier, for which attendees are advised to bring their own mats. Throughout the day, visitors will also enjoy itinerant musical performances and a karaoke, providing background entertainment. Some local associations, including AVA, will be present with a gazebo to share information about the area’s history and the recent local initiative “Adelasia, la leggenda”.

Franca Giannotta, the municipality’s commerce councillor, highlighted that the event offers “a valuable opportunity to enhance and promote” the city’s shopping experience, emphasising its importance for both inhabitants and visitors. She also expressed gratitude towards the consortium for organising the event and to customers for appreciating the quality and enjoyment of shopping locally.

Lucia Leone, president of the consortium “Alassio Un Mare di Shopping”, thanked the participating commercial activities, recognising the crucial role of the local retail sector in making Alassio an attractive tourist destination. She also acknowledged the support from the municipal administration and law enforcement in facilitating the event, inviting both residents and visitors to take part.

To accommodate SaldinBanco, certain roads will be closed to traffic: Via Marconi between Via Pascoli and Via Gibb, and Via Dante between Via Gibb and Via Torino (excluding the latter), will be closed from 12 pm on 18 August until 1 am the following day. Vehicle removal will begin at 7 am. In the event of bad weather, the event will be postponed to Monday 25 August.
