The Chamber of Commerce Riviere di Liguria has launched an initiative aimed at promoting Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) and improving energy efficiency within the region. As part of this effort, a territorial planning group has been established to engage both public and private entities interested in the creation and development of RECs.
On 16 September, the Chamber will host a day of meetings focused on these topics, divided into two sessions: the morning session will run from 10 am to 1 pm, and the afternoon session will take place from 3 pm to 5.30 pm. The event is organised through the Digital Enterprise Hub (PID) and carried out in collaboration with Dintec, the chamber consortium for technological innovation. Attendees are expected to include representatives from existing or emerging renewable energy communities, local authorities, third sector organisations, and other interested public and private stakeholders.
Registrations are already open and can be completed online via a dedicated form. Enrico Lupi, president of the Chamber of Commerce Riviere di Liguria, highlighted that the institution has been supporting businesses and territories in Imperia, Savona, and La Spezia in their energy transition “for several years now,” emphasising that “the path taken is the right one.” Regarding the 16 September event, Lupi described it as a “concrete” opportunity aimed at facilitating experience exchange between public and private actors involved with RECs and water resource management. The goal is to share best practices and deepen understanding of technical, regulatory, and organisational aspects.
The morning session will offer an overview of Renewable Energy Communities, focusing on their advantages and the relevant legal framework, along with presentations of local active cases. The afternoon will concentrate on more technical matters, highlighting innovative digital tools and the use of artificial intelligence not only for renewable energy production but also for more efficient water resource management.
