The Liguria Region has allocated 22.9 million euros to support investments by 180 businesses in renewable energy plants. This announcement was made by the regional Energy Assessor, Paolo Ripamonti, along with the regional economic development delegate, Alessio Piana. The regional Giunta has increased the funding for the initiative by an additional 5.9 million euros under action 2.2.1 of the ERDF 2021-2027 programme, focused on generating energy from renewable sources.
This programme aims to enhance the production, storage, and self-consumption of energy. To date, it has involved 136 businesses, and with the additional funding, it will be able to include another 44. “Thus ensuring economic coverage for all projects deemed eligible by Filse,” explained Alessio Piana, highlighting the significance of regional support with incentives covering up to 80% of the business investments. This initiative will facilitate the installation of photovoltaic systems with a total capacity exceeding 12 megawatts, of which 2.1 megawatts have already been installed.
Paolo Ripamonti mentioned that the increase in funds allows for a shift in the ranking, expanding production by approximately 20%. “This department is actively working, with the valuable support of the team, to provide solutions to companies in line with the objectives related to renewable source performance.”
The call, open from 22 September to 6 October 2023, stipulates that eligible projects may benefit from a combination of incentives: a non-repayable grant covering 40% of the investment, a subsidised loan at an annual rate of 1.5% for a further 40% of the investment, and the reduction of guarantee costs.
Additionally, the Liguria Region has extended the deadline for the completion and reporting of projects under the call to 30 June 2025, as established by the Energy Sector Directive Decree.
