In the Savona area, the staff responsible for verifying travel tickets for TPL Linea now have access to new body cams, advanced devices that enhance monitoring on buses and at stops, thereby increasing the overall safety of local public transport.
The device in use is the VB400, a next-generation wearable camera that delivers high performance and the features necessary to handle various situations. The camera functionalities are managed by VideoManager, a user-friendly software.
This equipment for the staff is part of an extraordinary inspection plan launched during the summer, involving nine verification teams composed of trained and authorized personnel for activities across the provincial area. The nine body cams also support collaboration with law enforcement.
Giampaolo Rossi, director of TPL Linea, stated: “We have developed a structured plan to ensure adequate coverage of inspections by our staff on bus lines and at stops, who will also receive new equipment to conduct checks effectively and safely.” He added that the commitment to addressing fare evasion “also reflects our attention, respect, and sensitivity towards paying customers,” emphasizing the importance of appropriate technological tools.
