Piaggio Aerospace: delivered three new P.180 Avanti “EVO+” to the Armed Forces

P.180 AVANTI EVO+

After completing the testing phases, Piaggio Aerospace delivered three new P.180 Avanti EVO+ aircraft to the Italian Air Force. These planes, designed and manufactured at the Villanova d’Albenga and Genoa Sestri Ponente facilities, are the first of fifteen units ordered by the Armed Forces. The aircraft will be used at the Air Transport Training School in Pratica di Mare, near Rome. This initiative is part of a fleet modernization program that also includes retrofitting some aircraft already in service. The delivery of another new unit and a converted one is expected by February next year.

The new P.180 models and those undergoing upgrades feature an innovative configuration, engineered and certified by Piaggio Aerospace using the most advanced aeronautical technologies. The updates include upgraded avionics and new landing gear equipped with cutting-edge anti-skid, braking, and steering systems. Recently, the company has handed over a fully refurbished and certified P.180 “Avanti I”, now in Avanti II+ configuration.
