From this evening until Monday, November 25, in honor of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the large screen on the Palazzo della Regione Liguria in Piazza De Ferrari in Genoa will showcase the works of students from the Klee – Barabino Art School in Genoa. This initiative, titled “Art Against Violence,” was developed in collaboration with the Genoa Provincial Command of the Carabinieri and school management to raise awareness among young people about gender-based violence. The images are displayed alongside the anti-violence hotline 1522, the 112 emergency number, and the hashtag #wecanhelpyou, aiming to spread awareness of the available resources to combat abuse.
These artworks result from a series of meetings between students and the Carabinieri of the Forte San Giuliano Station Command in Genoa, where they discussed prevention and the importance of collective commitment against all forms of violence against women.
Coinciding with November 25, the Liguria Region has also launched the social media campaign ‘I say no‘, urging men to firmly reject gender violence. The initiative encourages participants to share a personal photo on their social profiles, accompanied by the hashtag #isayno and the tag @LiguriaRegion. These images will then be featured in the ‘stories’ of the official Facebook and Instagram accounts and compiled into a photo collage, creating a collective testimony against gender violence.
Among the first participants in the campaign, in addition to the president of the Liguria Region Marco Bucci, are well-known personalities such as Tullio Solenghi, Alberto Razzetti, Matteo Aicardi, and many others.
Furthermore, on Sunday, November 24, the promotional video for #isayno will be displayed on the screens of the Picco Stadium in La Spezia, Marassi in Genoa, and the Chiavari Municipal Stadium during the soccer matches.
