The Municipality of Alassio has allocated over 250,000 euros for various public works projects. These include the reconstruction of a section of the Angelo Ciccione promenade, landslide and stormwater management, and the refurbishment of the paving in Vico San Domenico. Additionally, a supply of porphyry cubes is planned for repaving the historic center of Caso. The 2024 budget also covers funding for cultural events, tourism projects, and new surveillance cameras. A significant expenditure item is the 347,862 euro regional contribution requested following the September 2022 fire.

The General Budget Adjustment for 2024, approved by the executive cabinet (Giunta) on November 14, was presented by the Budget executive Councillor (Assessore), Patrizia Mordente. Public works are given particular focus with funding exceeding 250,000 euros. Among the main projects, 50,000 euros are allocated for the reconstruction of the Angelo Ciccione promenade, while 60,000 euros are earmarked for the extraordinary maintenance of Parco San Rocco, including the renovation of restrooms. Additional funds of 35,000 euros are designated for the Solva-Cavia panoramic road and the embankment of Via Giancardi. To address the recent flooding, 50,000 euros have been set aside for stormwater maintenance. Furthermore, 30,000 euros are allocated for the paving of Vico San Domenico, and 25,136.20 euros for the supply of porphyry cubes for the historic center of Caso.

The budget also allocates funds for culture and tourism, with 30,000 euros designated for the theater season, evening language courses, and film forums, and 80,000 euros for the tourism sector. For security, 31,000 euros are allocated for the purchase and installation of 19 new surveillance cameras. The commerce sector receives support of 15,600 euros, which includes the renewal of the “10 Comuni” project with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Nice and local activities like “Dream Shopping.”

Thanks to regional funds from Regione Liguria, a contribution of 347,862 euros is included to restore forest areas damaged by the 2022 fires. “Each item has been designed to effectively address the revitalization of the territory and the promotion of culture and tourism through targeted interventions,” states the Budget executive Councillor Patrizia Mordente. The General Budget Adjustment for 2024 will be presented to the City Council at the next December meeting.
