A plan is underway to ease the most disruptive construction sites on Ligurian motorways, with an expected acceleration from 20 December to 8 January 2025. This initiative includes Aspi concessions for the Genoa area, Tirreno Concessions for the A10 and A12 routes, and Autostrada dei Fiori for the A6.

The decision emerged from a meeting among representatives from the Liguria Region, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Anci Liguria, the Municipality of Genoa, and the concessionaires. The goal is to reduce traffic on the Ligurian motorway network during the Christmas holidays, thereby facilitating movement, especially for the tourism sector.

According to the Liguria Region’s Infrastructure Assessor, Giacomo Giampedrone, “the halt during the Christmas period on lane changes and the most disruptive construction sites is a positive outcome.” This approach follows a well-established pattern, thanks to ongoing dialogue between the various parties involved.

According to Aspi, the first reduction of construction sites is expected to begin by the weekend of 8 December. Construction sites will be removed on the A10 between Albisola and Celle Ligure, on the A12 between Rapallo and Recco, on the A7 between Bolzaneto and Busalla, and on the A26 between Masone and the connection with the A10. After 9 December, work will resume but will be reduced again during the holidays until 8 January. Some non-removable sites, like those on the A26 between Masone and Ovada, will remain operational using the road zipper, which optimises lanes according to traffic. The Nervi interchange will also be closed from 9 December 2024 to 11 January 2025.

For Concessioni del Tirreno, the section between Savona and Ventimiglia will be free of construction sites from 20 December to 7 January. However, on the A12 segment between Sestri Levante and La Spezia, two sites will remain active for the modernisation of safety barriers and the enhancement of the A12-A15 interconnection.

Finally, on the A6 Turin – Savona, managed by Autostrada dei Fiori, the current construction sites will remain unchanged.

A new meeting is scheduled for January to define future planning in view of the Easter holidays.
